Pierre Lacroix

Pierre Lacroix has an extensive consulting background with organizations in the private, public, and social sectors.  For the last fifteen years Mr. Lacroix has been working in the areas of leadership development, strategic thinking, team development, living with change, and the facilitation of public dialogue.  He has researched, designed, and adapted a wide range of concepts, tools, and techniques that can be applied to organizational needs.  Mr. Lacroix is fluent in both French and English and performs his work in both languages.

Mr. Lacroix started his career as a training consultant for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation in 1975.  While at CMHC, he designed a variety of management development programs and organization improvement interventions.  During his last three years at CMHC, he combined the role Training and Development Manager with the role of organizational development advisor to line managers.

In 1985, he joined Shell Canada as an Organizational Effectiveness Advisor. Two years later, he went to work with the Forum Corporation of Canada, where he delivered sales and management programs to clients including Bell Canada, Campbell Soup, Merck, Deloitte and Touche, First Interstate Bank of California, Gowlings, Merck, Northern Telecom, Pratt and Whitney, Scotia Bank Standard Chartered Bank of London, Standard Life of Canada, Via Rail, and Xerox.

In 1989, Pierre was hired as Deputy Director of H.R. at the International Development Research Center.  He completed assignments in Kenya, Sénégal, Uruguay, Singapore, and India.

Mr. Lacroix has considerable experience in working with multi-cultural groups.  He has complted three four-month consulting assignments in India, Rwanda, and Mali.  He was also heavily involved in the design and delivery of leadership programs for the Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong and M.G. Industry in Frankfurt.  These programs included deliveries in Malaysia, Germany, England, Singapore, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.  He has also facilitated the Leadership Development program at the Canadian School of Public Service in Ottawa.

In the last two years, Pierre has facilitated a number of public consultations using a dialogue and deliberation approach.  His clients have been the Canadian Public Health Agency, Agriculture Canada, and the Nuclear Waste Management Organization.

Mr. Lacroix has also provided consulting services to the non-profit sector.  He has worked with the Canadian Association of Community Colleges, the National Advisory Council on Aging, the Canadian Coalition on International Development, the Canadian Public Health Association, the National Voluntary Organization, the Voluntary Sector Initiative, the Canadian Children Alliance, the YMCA of greater Montreal, the Canadian Teachers Federation, Family Services of Canada, the Canadian Child Care Federation, the Canadian Nature Federation, the Canadian Medical Association, the United Way of Canada, and Volunteer Canada. 

Mr. Lacroix holds a Licence ès lettres from Laval University, a Master’s Degree in French Literature from Queen's University and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development from Pepperdine University.
