Learning Design
Learning design includes designing classroom
and on-the-job experiences that build awareness, skill, or capability.
These experiences include workshops, train-the-trainer sessions,
intranet/web-enabled learning, offsite meetings, and more.
Our process includes the following steps:
Assessment: This step includes identifying
the outcomes of the project (sometimes these are clear upfront and
sometimes they emerge from the assessment process itself) and learning
about the needs of the individual, group, or organization. This
is typically done through data gathering that includes interviews,
focus groups, or formal/informal surveys.
Design: This step includes creating an
initial design and testing it with key players in the organization
(Executives/Line Managers, Human Resources, etc.). The goal of this
step is to create a design that will meet the needs of the participants
and fit the culture. The deliverable is a design document.
Implementation Planning/Development: This
step includes ensuring key stakeholders are on board and creating
any needed materials. The deliverables include participant and/or
facilitator materials.
Implementation: This step includes implementing the project and
monitoring the work against the original outcomes.
Follow-Up: This final step includes taking
any action steps that arise from the implementation process and
ensuring that plans, changes, or learning are supported in the organization.
