Our Team
Sally Sparhawk
Sally Sparhawk has over 25 years experience in
the training and development field. She specializes in providing
customized solutions to performance and training problems, helping
clients improve their organizations with focused solutions.
Ms. Sparhawk's clients include Aspen Skiing Company,
Corning, Inc., Eastman Kodak Company, the Federal Deposit Insurance
Corporation (FDIC), Goulds Pumps, Inc., LearnShare, Goulds Pumps,
Inc., Liberty Mutual, the Professional Ski Instructors of America,
and Shell Oil Company. She is also an experienced resource for the
Forum Corporation and has managed projects for them in Canada, the
United States, and England. She recently spent 5 months in London
coordinating the roll-out of a training initiative for one of England's
largest banks.
Ms. Sparhawk has:
- Written a book on conducting a training needs analysis entitled
Identifying Targeted Training Needs.
- Served as a facilitator for Listening to the City, an historic
gathering in New York City of 5000 diverse NYC region citizens
to help shape the future of Lower Manhattan, including creation
of a memorial to honor the victims of September 11th.
- Managed training and development for major insurance, manufacturing,
and banking organizations,
including TRINOVA Corporation, Trustcorp Bank, Erie Insurance
Group, and Maryland National Bank.
- Conducted benchmarking studies for major corporations and contributed
to the American Society for
Training and Development (ASTD) National Report—Benchmarking:
How Companies Learn From the Best
to Become the Best.
- Contributed expertise to ASTD by chairing committees (including
the Program Advisory Committee for
the 1999 International Conference), by making presentations at
14 national and international ASTD conferences (The Expatriate
Experience: It’s Not All Glory, Help, I'm the New Training
Manager, 20 Tips
for Designing Experiential Learning Exercises, Strategic Needs
Analysis, and Benchmarking Management Development), and by writing
an ASTD INFO-LINE (Strategic Needs Analysis)
- Received the ASTD 1995 Torch Award for Leadership Within the
Society.
A graduate of Kent State University, Ms. Sparhawk
has her Masters degree from Bowling Green State University. She
completed the Organization and Systems Development Program at the
Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and
has served on the Institute’s Board of Governors. Sally is
also a Level 2 Certified Ski Instructor (PSIA) and lives
in Snowmass Village, Colorado where she teaches skiing to children
with special needs.
